Another trick is to use a slotted spoon to increase the fruit-to-syrup ratio in the jar. 		<description>How well did this gel? The two times that I have tried to make blood orange marmalade from two different really good canners, the marmalade was syrupy. Thicker syrup but nonetheless...I have made a lot of successful marmalade from different types of citrus and blood orange still eludes me.</description>
